Plastic Granules Manufacturing Plant Case in Zambia | 300kg/h HDPE Flakes Recycling Project

plastic granules manufacturing plant

Plastic granules manufacturing plant solutions are increasingly being applied in the African recycling market. Recently, a customer from Zambia shared positive feedback with us. The plastic pelletizing equipment he ordered from our company has been successfully installed and is now operating steadily, processing 300kg of HDPE flakes per hour. The customer also sent us on-site operation videos and raw material photos.

In this case study, we will introduce the production line configuration and its actual performance.

Project Background

The Zambian customer mainly recycles local HDPE plastic waste. The raw materials are pre-crushed HDPE flakes, sourced from detergent bottles, pipe scraps, and industrial packaging waste.

Raw material details:

  • Material: HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
  • Condition: Crushed flakes
  • Containing some dust and minor impurities
  • Required capacity: 300kg/h

The customer planned to build a complete plastic granules manufacturing plant to convert waste HDPE into recycled pellets suitable for resale or for injection and blow molding production.

Plastic Granules Manufacturing Plant Configuration

Based on the material condition and required output, we provided the following equipment:

1. Plastic Washing and Drying Machine

Since the raw materials contain dust and impurities, thorough washing and drying are necessary before pelletizing. The system includes:

  • Plastic washing tank
  • Dewatering machine

After cleaning and drying, the moisture content is effectively reduced, ensuring stable performance in the pelletizing stage.

2. Plastic Pelletizing Machine

The core equipment is a single-screw plastic pelletizing machine, suitable for processing HDPE materials. Its main functions include:

  • Heating and melting
  • Plasticizing and extrusion
  • Continuous and stable strand output

During operation, the temperature control remains stable, and extrusion runs smoothly, meeting the customer’s continuous production needs.

3. Cooling Water Tank

After extrusion from the die head, the molten plastic strands enter the cooling water tank for cooling and shaping. The tank length is configured according to the capacity to ensure sufficient cooling and prevent sticking or deformation.

4. Pellet Cutting Machine

The cooled plastic strands then enter the pellet cutting machine, where they are cut into uniform recycled plastic granules. The finished pellets are easy to pack, transport, and sell.

Plastic Granules Manufacturing Plant Customer Feedback

The entire plastic granules manufacturing plant is now running smoothly, with an actual output of approximately 300kg/h. According to the customer:

  • Pellets are uniform in shape
  • Color consistency is stable
  • Equipment runs continuously without interruption
  • Operation and maintenance are relatively simple

The customer also shared operation videos, clearly showing the complete process from washing to pellet cutting.
